Oct 3, 2020 – Fairburn, GA – by Coach Andy Carr
Two big races from fellow seniors Jack Petkash & Hayden Marshall led the Eagles at the extremely competitive and large Alexander/ASICS Invitational at Chattahoochee Hills in Fairburn, GA.
Varsity Boys
Racing in a dense fog, Milton (12th-321 pts) beat back 17 schools in the largest race run in so far this season. Fellow seniors Jack Petkash (26th-15:43) and Hayden Marshall (27th-15:45) helped re-write the school record books by becoming the 6th and 7th fastest performers in school history! Petkash closed on Marshall late in the race to pull even with him just before the finish as the two finished right after each other in two of the best performances ever for a Milton athlete! Also running a big all-time best, fellow senior Connor Brunson (65th-16:14), improved 56-seconds with junior Dylan Bowden (130th-16:52) notching a 30-second all-time best! Senior co-captain Lorin Tady (170th-17:19), sophomore Cory Chambers (187th-17:28) and freshman Hixon Rumph (208th-17:50) followed as both Tady and Rumph ran all-time bests.

The Lady Eagles faced a stiff challenge in one of the most competitive races they will have all-season and came away with multiple personal bests and a solid team finish. Milton (18th-516 pts) beat back 14 scoring schools while running the best spread among their five scoring runners of any team in the race. Senior co-captain Audrey Nichols (97th-19:58) ran to her 3rd-best performance while leading the Lady Eagles. Freshman Ella Grace Malcom (104th-20:04) followed and set an over 40-second all-time best. Great pack running followed for Milton with junior Ellie Dickenson (130th-20:30), sophomore Farrah Frith (135th-20:35) and freshman Calista Cacciatore (138th-20:36) all running lifetime bests while setting that smallest spread time among their five scorers! Milton (13th-361 pts) bested 12 schools and was led by junior Charlie Reynolds (31st-17:39) in a big personal best performance!
JV Boys 2
Due to the large amount of entries and COVID-19 concerns, the JV races were divided up amongst the larger programs at the meet to smaller sized races based on participant numbers. Sophomore Jack Rea (19th-19:04) led the Eagles as Milton (5th-140 pts) defeated 9 scoring schools.
JV Boys 3
The Eagles duplicated their team finish from the race before as junior Sean Rasmituth (11th-19:44) led Milton (5th-147 pts) in defeating 10 competing schools.
JV Girls
The Lady Eagles defeated 17 schools while many on the team ran to all-time personal bests. Junior Ella Katekovich (14th-21:26) led the Milton (6th-156 pts) contingent as the Lady Eagles bested many strong programs.
