It’s that time again – our annual Trail Day! We are set for Saturday, August 1st from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM. In anticipation of the first practice on Monday, August 3, 2015 we will be working on getting the Cross Country Trail in great shape.  This is a volunteer event for both athletes and parents, but has been a great bonding tradition over the years and a great way for parents to see the course up close and personal.  The team will really be up close and personal as they will be running on the trail almost every day for the next 3 months.
The tasks will involve raking the trail, removing large debris from the trail, clipping back overgrowth on the trail, putting out some additional spot mulch, installing some fencing, and cleaning out some of the drainage pipes under different parts of the trail.
Good News First:Â The Booster Club will have the trail mulched by a landscape company this week, and the gravel will be placed on the service road on Monday August 3.
The Other Good News: All athletes who help a full shift on trail work day can earn 5 lettering points! Make sure to check in upon your arrival to make sure you get credit for helping. This is the same number of points as setting 5 personal records (PR’s) or running 50 miles over the summer!
Where to meet:     LAX/ Baseball Field Parking lot – 7:00 AM – We will break up into groups, led by trail captains and head to various parts of the trail.
What to wear:   The trail is largely in the woods, but around the trails – and all are urged to dress comfortably but responsibly – sensible shoes and clothing are a good start. We will have bug spray available for those that wish to spray themselves. Water will be available as well as Chick-Fil-A sandwiches at the end of the work!
