Ian had a stellar career at Milton HS besting the many records and accomplishments of Milton’s best
distance runner, John Marvin Wolf, class of 1966. Ian not only won county titles, but region titles and
multiple state titles while at Milton. His records and accomplishments have stood the test of time as
they are just now being broken with the current distance runners at Milton these past few years and Ian
continues to hold one school record and some relay and individual top-10 all-time performances as well.
Ian was a model student and athlete while at Milton and represented the school honorably at the state,
region and national levels while competing for the Eagles. Ian has left his mark at many places around
the state from his high school performances including the fastest time run on the state’s cross country
course and numerous stadium marks including at Roswell and numerous other track facilities across the
state. His participation at the national Footlocker cross country championships is a testament to his
ability on a regional level to run with the best at that time in the country as many Ian raced against at
those championships went on to be our Olympians in 2008 and 2012.
