Intersquad event sets varsity roster
This past Saturday, the Eagle cross country teams tested their fitness at the team’s annual Time Trial race on the home Milton course to set their varsity & junior varsity rosters for the first meet of the season this coming weekend at the Apalachee Opener in Winder, GA.
GIRLS
The Lady Eagles kicked off the races & the season as close to 60 completed the 5km distance. Senior captain Caroline Spain (1st-21:28) pulled away from sophomore Sadie Katekovich (2nd-22:00) & junior Lucie Gallagher (3rd-22:03) just after 2km to get the individual victory. Finishers in the top-10 included:

BOYS
The defending State 5A Champions began their season and road to Carrollton with a spirited competition that saw junior Will Chambers (1st-17:47) threaten the top-10 record board in the gym. Senior captain Jayin Batra (2nd-18:46) ran with Chambers for half the race and was followed by senior Ryan Greathouse (3rd-19:04). The remaining top-10 finishers were:
